Starting the ride along the palm tree-lined Albert Park lake, which hosts the world-famous Formula 1 circuit each year, we'll make our way to St Kilda's Acland Street precinct past Luna Park and cult venue ‘The Espy’. Winding our way through the quiet streets of Elwood, then along the beachfront right to the iconic Brighton Bathing Boxes. Returning back along the coastal bike path towards the city, you’ll get to enjoy one of the most picturesque sunsets and views of the skyline. We’ll finish the ride at the West Beach Bathers Pavilion before we escort you safely to the final destination.

My mom and I had a fantastic bike tour with Maren and Miguel- winding through the street of South Melbourne and on to Elwood. No better way to see the city! Both my mom and I were a little nervous to ride electric bikes but Miguel fit us each very specifically for a bike and the brief tutorial eliminated our fears. I cannot say enough about these bikes!!! Never thought about buying an electric bike but now I would really love to have one. I highly recommended the service, the tour and the bikes!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the Tour start from?

We start at bikeNOW 240 Kings way, South Melbourne 3205. The meet time is 5.30pm during the warmer months.

What do I need to bring on the day?

We supply the bikes, helmets, bottle cage, locks and lights so all you need to do is to prepare for the weather and we’ll handle the rest. Given that you’ll be out on the bike during dinner time, we suggest taking a few snacks along with you. We’ll be stopping to watch the Sunset at the West Beach Bathers Pavilion where you can have some food before returning.

What bike experience is needed for the tour?

If you’ve ridden a bike before you’ll be fine! We run through bike handling/education skills with you before leaving the store. The Tour guide/s are very experienced and will only take the group on the safest paths possible.
Please be aware we ride on the left-hand side in Australia.

What fitness is needed for the tour?

We’re under time constraints given it’s a 22km return trip, with lots to see between 6-9.30pm. A little fitness is needed but given you’re being assisted by a motor it will make pedalling a breeze.

Do I need to make a booking for the tour?

In order to give you the best experience possible, we ask that you book two days in advance. For any custom tours, group tours (larger than 4 people) and business functions, we roughly need about 1 week to organise.

Where can I leave my belongings while out on the tour?

You can leave your belongings in-store at bikeNOW, safe and secure. We’ll all be returning back to this destination when the tour is finished.

How can I find you when travelling via - Train, tram, Airport or Cruise ship?

  • Via Tram
  • Via Train

What happens if it rains?

If it is going to rain or is raining on the day of your booking, we can do either one of two things. 1. We can reschedule the booking for another day that suits 2. We could refund your payment in full.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

We completely understand that life can get hectic and things change. In most cases we can offer a full refund, as long as more than two days prior to booking date is given. We prepare your hire 2 days in advance, to ensure the best experience given.
