Commuting in the time of COVID

After 2+ long years living and existing with COVID, it's time to get on your bike and get your fitness back.

Commuting to work 2

As an abundance of people in Australia return to the office after months of COVID related lockdowns, what better way to avoid the traffic, the masses of people and the risk of infection than by starting to commute to work by bike?  With the proliferation of e-bikes, even a longer distance of 20kms plus to your workplace is now possible.

Not only will you be able to get your fitness back, you'll feel more energised during your working day.  Even if you're not as confident riding on the road, with the ample network of bike paths around Melbourne (and Australia) there's most likely one very close to your doorstep.

For those of you based in Melbourne, have a look at the some of the more prominent bike paths in our wonderful city.

  1. Gardiners Creek Trail – 17km (one way)
  2. Capital City Trail – 29km (loop)
  3. Bay Trail - Brighton to Port Melbourne – 26km (return)
  4. Eastlink & Dandenong Creek Tail – 16km (loop)
  5. Maribyrnong River Trail – 21km (one way)
  6. Foreshore Trail, Williamstown to Altona Beach – 16km (return)

For a full exhaustive list of all the bike tracks we have on and off-road, check out the Melbourne Bike Grid.
