Our training and short tour maps

It is a great idea to do more than one of these rides in a session, mix and match rides together to build your perfect training combination.
For example, as you get better in the hills, you can use Rout #1 or #2 as a warm up before attacking #3. Many prefer to ride from their suburb to the hills as a warm up however, some roads on the way to your favourite training area may be dangerous, this way you can have nothing but quality on the bike plus you can go harder and come back to your car between loops if you blow up early to find a cafe and your car waiting.
#1 Cotswold Farm (Short Tour)
#2 Emerald (Scenic)
#3 The Wall (The hill lovers delight)
#4 Perrins Creek (short hill loop)
#5 The Patch Figure 8
#6 The lookout
#7 Piggy back hill session
#8 1 n 20 (soon)
#9 One tree hill (strength Sessions)
#10 Piggery Hill Loop

These pages are still being developed, it is our intention to have over 100 ride maps developed over the next 2 years. So visit again soon to check for updates.

Public Training Bunch Rides

It is paramount that when riding on our public roads that we all obey road rules and respect other road users. Your conduct is a representation of all cyclists, to have other users respect cyclists, we must first be courteous to others.

Melbourne has a huge culture or road groups unparalleled in the world along beach road from St. Kilda to Mordialloc. The road is great all the way to Portsea (approx. 100km each way).

Beach road can be a bit heavy on traffic on weekdays after 7am so the bikes get out early during the week. On the weekends there are smaller groups all day however, between 6am and 10am there are up to 10,000 riders made up of individuals, smaller groups and larger bunches that you could just sit on and join in. The bunches can run anywhere up to and over 200 riders, most are will not mind if you join in as long as you ride safely.

To ride is these bunches will not welcome riders with flat bars like on a mountain bike. The different bar configuration of MTB's bikes and such can represent danger to other riders in the bunch as you can get hooked up easily. Please read our bunch tips page if you do not have experience.
