How much should I spend ?

Hopefully we can help find the bike best suited to your needs within your budget. A basic bike begins at $300-500. Bikes approaching $1,000 provide precision componentry that are usually more resistant to corrosion and weigh less.

If you are considering more advanced riding or competition, suitable Mountain Bikes and Road Bikes are available for around $2000. If you are upgrading, it is best to buy a bike a little above your present level. It will feel better to ride and may motivate you to use it more. If you pay too little, the bike may not be suitable for your changing needs and may have to be replaced before its time.

A Bicycle is mainly made up of;

  • Frame: (App. 25% of total cost)
  • Fork: (suspension) (App. 15% cost) (Less for non suspended forks)
  • Parts Kit: [components (App. 36% cost)
  • Wheels: (App. 20% cost)
  • Bar & Seat assembly: (App. 4% cost)

It may be a good decision to allocate more money to selections that will help the bike be more suitable for the intended purpose. For example, if you are buying a mountain bike to ride to work every day and will be used for mainly road use, the tyres should be upgraded to a faster road tread, whereas the suspension forks do not need to be as good. Our staff are well equipped to help you make any alteration to make your new bike absolutely ideal for your circumstances.

Why buy a bike from specialist retailer ?

So many people purchase a bicycle with only price in mind because that is all they know. Our staff will help you understand the pro’s and con’s of different selections to help you make the best decision. If you buy a bike that is not good enough for the intended use, it may not be enjoyable to ride and you will be likely to want to upgrade items on the bike or replace whole the bike.

BikeNOW has a very competitive price structure and our experienced staff will ensure you leave the store with a well equipped bike that will suit your needs. More importantly you should be making your selection from a retailer that considers your circumstances and is eager to please you before and after the sale. Department stores and lower class bicycles shops often do not provide a quality build, extensive preparation or post sale service, sound advice and sometimes not even a quality product itself. bikeNOW has the advantage of value adding from our experienced and qualified sales staff who are more than happy to impart valuable advice based on their own experience.
